Knox was a Nuclear Engineer. He was a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor's degree in chemistry and math and received his M.S. in physics and Ph.D. degree in nuclear chemistry from the University of Arkansas. Knox's career was spent building power plants throughout the world.
Knox was a member of the Rotary Club of Greensboro where he was a Paul Harris Fellow and awarded the Joseph M Bryan Rotarian of the year. He was pleased to recently have been granted Honorary Membership to the Rotary Club of Greensboro.
His survivors are his wife Judy Patten Broom; daughters, with his late wife Margaret C. Broom, Lyn B. Peraldo of Greensboro, and Shea B. Pitlik and her husband Mike of Lake Forest, CA.Also surviving are his step-daughter Emily McAdams Scott and her husband Rick; and step-son Hal (Mac) L. McAdams, III and his wife Rosalia of Greensboro. Knox is survived by 4 grandchildren Chandler Knox Peraldo, Leah Shea Peraldo, Briley Lyn Pitlik and Hayden Shea Pitlik. He has 3 step-grandchildren Jelly Batista, Antonio Batista and Henry Wilson Scott.
A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at Greensboro Country Club on Friday, June 27, 2014 from 3:00 until 5:00.
