Kenneth Wayne Gailey, 68. A resident of Greensboro (Forest Oaks Community) passed away at Moses Cone Health Care on Monday March 11, 2024. He was born November 21, 1955 in Greensboro, the son of the late James Jackson Gailey and Hilda Ruth Terrell Gailey.
Kenneth was a member of the graduating class of 1974 at Southeast High School. He received his BS Degree in Management Information Systems, from High Point University in May of 2006. He retired as Project Manager in February of 2023 from Canopy Partners. Previously, he worked in the IT departments at Randolph Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital, AT&T Wireless, and Rolane Corporation.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Thigpen Gailey with his daughter, Emily Catherine Gailey; his son, Zachary Rylan Gailey of the home; one sister, Joan Gailey Riddle and husband Bert of Stokesdale and one brother, James Gailey and wife Jan of Liberty, nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved family members.
As the keeper of stories, Ken documented every moment, including genealogy research and photos of family and friends. He cherished all extended family with as much care and love as his immediate family. He was the epitome of a doting father, cherished husband, and family man. He nurtured his children and taught them important life lessons. As a lover of animals, he cherished all life no matter how big or small. He loved the family pets, his late dog Princess and his two cats Tom and Myrtle.
A Celebration of Life Service for Kenneth will be held 11am, Monday, March 18, at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel officiated by Sara Beth Terrell, minister. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Kenneth’s memory to a donation of your choice.
