Kaye Kamrath Barnard, 79, passed away May 29th at Beacon Place, Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro. Kaye was born October 29, 1937 in Flint, Michigan, to the late Herbert George Kamrath and Thelma Crist Kamrath.
She spent the majority of her childhood in Barrington, Rhode Island. She graduated from Barrington High School, Dean Junior College, and received her Nursing Degree from Duke University.
Kaye is survived by her devoted Husband William (Bill) Barnard of the home; brother Richard Kamrath of Concord, California; sons William (Kam) Barnard (Kim) of Semora, NC; Chris Barnard of Lancaster, SC; David (Stephanie) of Greensboro, NC; and daughter Karen Jarman (Bill) of Concord, NC; and grandchildren Erik, Brett, Evynn, Emma, Kathryn, Callie, Sarah, William, Andy, and Emily. She was preceded in death by her sister Phyllis Kamrath Brawley (Jeter), and grandchildren Robert Warren and Anna Warren.
Kaye was an avid gardener and took delight in her family and cats. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Presbyterian Women. She was a member of the Herbal Thymes Guild, a Cub Scout leader, school monitor, and tutor when her children were young.
The family is most appreciative for the wonderful caregivers at Spring Arbor of Greensboro , Poteat Home Care, and Beacon Place at Hospice and Palliative care of Greensboro for their wonderful care and compassion.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Hanes Lineberry N. Elm Funeral Home prior to the celebration of Kaye’s life which will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Lineberry Center, 515 N. Elm Street, Greensboro, NC 27401 with Pastor Josh Musser Gritter officiating. A graveside service will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road, Greensboro, NC 27410.
