A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00am at Holy Trinity Episcopal Chapel. The Reverend Virginia N. Herring and the Reverend Dr. Robert B. Cook, Jr. will be officiating. Inurnment in the Holy Trinity Columbarium will follow the memorial service. Friends are invited to gather for a light repast after the conclusion of services. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home at 515 N. Elm Street, Greensboro NC 27401.
Karen was born in Forsyth County, September 28, 1948. She graduated from Parkland High School and continued on to receive under graduate and graduate degrees from UNCG. She often proudly referred to herself as an “UNCG Girl”.
Karen owned Long Associates Communications Disorders and Voice-Ergonomics. She was deeply committed to her patients and clients throughout her 40 year career as a Speech Language Pathologist. She enjoyed painting water colors, gardening, entertaining close friends, vibrant political debates and relaxing visits to Sunset Beach, NC. She was also actively involved in ASHA - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
Karen is survived by a host of dear friends, neighbors and her loving pet, Annabelle.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 907 N. Greene St, Pastoral Services Fund, Greensboro, NC 27401 NC; or to Wounded Warrior Project.org (Wounded Warrior Program, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675).
