Judy Anderson Brown

Judy Anderson Brown entered into her final rest at home in Greensboro, NC, on Nov 13, 2023. Judy was the daughter of the late William J. Anderson and the late Eleanor Wright Anderson of Greenville, SC. Judy was a 1966 graduate of Erskine College with a degree in Home Economics. She worked as a County Agent and a school teacher before finding her final calling as a school librarian.

Judy worked for the Guilford County Education System in Greensboro, NC, until her retirement. She married her childhood playmate, the late David S. Brown, in 1970 and they were devoted to each other until his death in 2015. Her greatest joy in life was traveling with David whether by car or in David’s plane. Judy was rarely seen without her bag of yarn as she was passionate about knitting tiny caps and blankets for infants in the hospital or crocheting Christmas stars. Judy was also an avid reader and firmly supported education through reading.

Judy is survived by her sister Lynn A. Black; her brother-in-law Mike Brown (Marie) and sister-in-law Jan Brown (John); her nieces Allison Black Dotson (Joshua) and Paige Brown (Jeff Baldic); her nephews Mike Brown (Kathy), John David Brown (Amy), and Mark Brown (Anna); and numerous great- and grand- nieces and nephews.

A private memorial service for her family and invited friends will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Greensboro.
