She was a lifelong educator, teaching grades K-8 over the course of a 30+ years career. After retirement from Southwest Guilford Middle School, she was instrumental in launching Guilford County’s “Communities In Schools” program, which recruited corporate leaders to coach students to higher levels of academic achievement. She helped many families navigate the hospital programs while their loved ones were in surgery. Judy was devoted to her family and lived in the Cedarwood community in Jamestown, North Carolina for 46 years, holding leadership positions in both the Garden Club and the Pool and Swim Club. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was loved my so many and will be missed by all who knew her. Judy was devoted to her seven grandchildren and made each one of them feel special in their own way. She never missed an important event and always had the perfect card for the occasion signed with love and her signature “waves”. Judy enjoyed many years at their Sunset Beach, NC vacation home.
