Johnnie Greeson Brown, the loving mother of Steve, Mike and Roger (aka Charlie) went to her eternal home, after complications following a stroke, where our Lord and Savior welcomed her with His loving arms.
Johnnie was the eldest daughter of James and Mabel Greeson of Mt Hope, NC. She was born on March 3, 1932. Johnnie fell in love with her late husband, Kinston Buck Brown, Jr (aka Billy) and they were married on March 7, 1952.
Johnnie loved cooking, spending time watering her flowers and just being a home maker, wife and mom…most of all she loved her family and the many friendships she had. She attended Nathanael Green School where she graduated in 1950. While there she loved the times she spent with her friends Jayne Brown and Modine Friddle. Later as her family grew, many precious memories were made spending summer vacations at White Lake NC, making homemade ice cream and having backyard cookouts. Johnnie always had a kind word for everyone and she welcomed all into her home.
The last couple years as Johnnie became more dependent on the need for caregiving support, she and the family were blessed to have Kaley Holbert, Sandy Holbert, Cindy Rowell and Angie Chappell provide the most wonderful and loving care one could ever hope for. The entire family wishes to thank them all for their wonderful help. The family would also like to thank Mitzi Church and the entire Burlington Hospice team for the guidance and the special care they provided.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her two sisters Doris Reese and Carol Sawyer. She leaves behind her three sons, Steve and his partner Ben, Mike and his wife Mitzi, “Charlie” and his wife Sharon; brother, Jimmy Greeson and his wife Pam; sister, Jeanette Kirkman; grandchildren, Ashley, Maya and Jonah and great grandchildren, Kadence and Gavin.
