Greensboro, NC-John C. "Jack" Bussey, Sr. peacefully passed away at Heartland Living Center on Thursday, January 8, 2015 following a brief illness. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife, Beth on March 3, 2014. They were married for 61 years. Jack was born in Edgefield, SC on June 7, 1928 to Benjamin and Anna Bussey. He served our country as a US Marine, got married, and later went on to run a successful, small insurance company in Greensboro. Jack enjoyed working in his vegetable garden along with taking road trips with Beth and visits with their grandsons. They proudly displayed 2Busseys on their license plate tag as a token of love and pride for their grandsons.
Jack is survived by his son, John Bussey, Jr. and fiancé, Marcia Cote of Milton, DE; his grandson, Adam Bussey, wife Jen Bussey and great grandson, Joe Bussey of Baltimore, MD and grandson, Dr. Brian Bussey of Nashville TN. He is also survived by two sisters, Willie Mae Swearington and Idalene Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 10 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 North Elm Street, Greensboro NC with Reverend Don Clement officiating. Interment will follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a contribution could be made in Jack's memory to the National Stroke Association, 9707 E Easter Lane Suite B, Centennial, CO 80112.
