A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 4th at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street with Pastors Joe Chandler and Dan Alderman officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 North O’Henry Boulevard.
Joann was born on June 8, 1937 in Yadkinville, NC. Joann was a homemaker and a mother of 6 children who loved her dearly. For a brief period in her life she worked as a Seamstress and continued her sewing as she raised her family. Joann loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings were special to her, with her serving her special Chicken and Dumplings along with a Strawberry Cobbler that everyone loved. When it came to her family, it didn’t matter what you wanted to do, she was always ready to go with her lipstick and sunglasses in hand. She was a faithful and active church member of Lebanon Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class, known as “Sisters”.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eva Willard, 3 brothers Glen Willard, Jesse Willard and Frank Willard, her beloved husband Lee Moore and 2 sons James Moore and Ray Moore. Surviving children are, son, Kenneth Moore (Debby); daughter, Darlene Davis (Herman); son, Gary Moore (Alicia); daughter, Teresa Smith (Danny) and daughter-in-law, Kathy Moore; siblings, Bobby Willard, Jerry Willard and Betty Jean Nichols; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great- grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the home of Joann Moore on Sunday, March 3rd from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm as well as Monday, March 4th from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel.
