Jimmy Raymond Pope, Sr. 86, a resident of Browns Summit passed away on Saturday October 29, 2022 at Moses Cone Health Care. He was born January 18, 1936 in Thomasville the son of Fred Ray Pope and Dolly Byrd Pope.
Jimmy was a driver for 43 years with Murrow Trucking.
He was married to Billie Jo Ann Pope who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sons; Jimmy Raymond Pope, Jr., Billy Joe Pope; his sisters, Treva P. Hudson, Geraldine P. Craven, Mary Lee Pope, Linda June P. Vittoe, Dollie Gayle P. Griffin, Faye P. Hedgecock, Jacqueline “Jackie” P. Robbins and his brothers, Fred R. Pope, Jr., Ray D. Pope and Homer W. Pope.
Jimmy later married Frances King Pope who survives of the home. Also surviving are his step-daughter, LaBreeska C. Hunt and husband Tim of Farmer; his step-son, Joseph Casey Councilman and wife Kimberly of Browns Summit; daughter-in-laws, Bernadine Pope of High Point, Katherine Pope of Belews Creek; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchild and two great-great grandchildren..
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday November 2, 2022 at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel 6000 West Gate City Blvd. Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by Pastor Wade Craven. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
