I wanted to add this one too. This was taken on one (of many) days that we would go out for a walk or over to the lake near where we lived. 
I miss and love my beautiful sister.

To my sister. The day you left, I didn’t know how I could go on living myself. How can I continue on without my sister? When I feel like I do not have the strength, you push me forward and remind me you are there always, guiding me through life and helping me to be strong.
So much has changed and I wish you were with me still on this side. I didn’t know how naive I used to be and I wish I didn’t have to lose you before realizing that fact. But I know you would tell me not to be so hard on myself and you would encourage me and we would talk all our thoughts out until we felt better.
You always used to protect and stand up for me if you felt someone wasn't treating me right. You wanted the best for me. 
Many people, including myself at times, would describe you as tough, however you also had a soft and kind spirit that wasn’t always seen. Sometimes soft hearts and spirits find navigating the world difficult. I believe I always saw that in you because you saw it in me too. 
I will not take a day for granted ever again, not the hard days, mundane days, or most happy days of my life. Thank you for everything you have taught me❤️ My sister and forever angel❤️

Thinking of you all today on the anniversary of Jessica's passing.

My biggest memory of Jessica was the wonderful mother she was to little Dillon who she loves with all her heart n soul...she'd do anything for him...so proud of her. She'll always be in my heart! We're praying for you Jamie James Rachel Sherman and Mike Dennis. May comfort surround you all. I love you all 🙏❤🙏❤🙏

I remember in maybe 2000 or 2001 we were exploring the woods together as we often did and we found a nest of baby rabbits still and unmoving. I was about to put leaves back over them and let it be but Jessica noticed one was still alive so she picked it up and brought it home and kept it happy.

I had been thinking of that time often recently and wanted to tell you about the memories, it had been awhile.

Years later we came to explore other forests, wherever we were in our lives.
There was a peace in the forest and I remember feeling my deepest sense of peace and community there.
I didn’t mind getting lost since we all got to be together for a bit longer.
We always came back so refreshed and joyful.

I’ll always miss those times with you.

When I’m in the forest,
I imagine you’re with me and I can hear you calling out, happy and free as when you took that bunny home.

When I hear Sherman, Rachel, Baby D, Dillon, Shamus too, I can hear you laughing nearby, and it feels to me like you’re next to us, resting on a mossy log by the creek bed. 

I imagine you now soaring like a winged hare, hard to catch and twice as free, like some mythological creature. 

In that sense you are eternally with me and I can never forget you.

My first sibling, my first friend of the forest, Jessica, I’ll always love you. 




Bout 96 or so this one stuck in my eternal memory: Me, Jamie, Jessica, James, & Rachel (little baby then) well before Sherman Lee.. Keith, Linda, Becky, Brian and any significant others I missed were there.
We all were interrupted at the table in our conversations by a loud banging sound. Jess was smacking a damn chicken leg off the plate and shoutin...bad dog bad dog!! Everyone roared in laughter. It was at Po Folks on old High Point Rd.  She was feisty rowdy and raised hades right out of the gate. GOD loves those kind. We all will meet again our wild child. We all love you always and forever. Daddy

Jamie, I remember you as a child in mentor, you and Becky and Robin and Marie playing while your mother and I visited.  I want you to know I am praying for your comfort and for Dillon and your whole family, my heart is heavy for you, please know that your daughter is at peace now and is not suffering any more  There are no words I can bring to mind to offer you any more comfort  try to remember the good times.
 

So sorry for your loss prayers for you and your family. Tell Aunt Becky I love her. This makes me hurt for you.

My heart is broken and my soul is shattered, but I know that God will keep you strong.  Shane has shared a lot of memories from the family ,and my heart just breaks !  I hurt for each and every one. she is one of our babies, we love them all, no matter what the situation.  As a mother, I grieve with all of my soul.  Jamie, you are one strong woman, if I ever met one, sweet as a peach and happy all the time. Somethings just never make sense, and you can only do so much, and you did.  Hold no guilt, God needed her for a reason, even though it hurts, and you can't understand it. Hold on to that, if nothing else, what a beautiful woman, just like her mama !
