Jean Irby Eades, 88, of Hope Arbor Assisted Living in Murrells Inlet, SC, died on Friday, April 20, 2018 at her residence. She was born and raised is South Boston, Virginia before moving to her longtime home in Greensboro, NC in 1955. She had been living at Hope Arbor since August of 2016.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 25th, 12:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with burial to follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will welcome friends from 11:00 am till service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jean was an executive secretary at Novartis, prior to her retirement in 1996. She was an active member and officer at Sedgefield Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jean loved traveling and having fun with her family.
Survivors are her daughter, Terry Mitchell and son-in-law, Joe, Jr. of Surfside Beach, SC; grandson, Dr. Joe Mitchell, III of Bethesda, MD and Jason Mitchell of Surfside Beach, SC. Jean was the widow of Roy O. Eades, who died in 1987. Jean’s parents, Edna and Henry Irby of South Boston, VA also preceded her in death.
