Janet "Jan" Paisley Pegram

Jan was born in Lenoir, NC April 13, 1950. She graduated from Lenoir High School where she was in the Honor Society. She attended the University of South Carolina, and graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with a degree in Journalism. Jan worked for the Greensboro News and Record in Advertising Sales, and was the leading sales person for nine of her ten years there. Jan left the newspaper to begin her own advertising firm, Jan Pegram Advertising, which she ran for 42 years. Jan was an animal lover, who had a special talent for spoiling one dog at a time. The University Animal Hospital staff had become "a second family" to Jan over the last 30 plus years of her life. Jan was an artistic and talented photographer, whose second business, Picture Perfect, brought her and others great joy and will continue to decorate walls and lives for years to come. Being a graduate of Chapel Hill, Jan was an avid UNC sports fan. Jan's most cherished accomplishment was being a loyal and trusted friend. She lived her life one day at a time and freely shared her experience, strength and hope with others. For over 36 years, Jan's kind words, loving heart, and generous Spirit touched the lives of countless women and men.

Jan was predeceased by her parents, her brother Charles Breckenridge Pegram, her dear friends Susan and Dottie Smith, and is survived by her sister Mary C. Pegram of Waxhaw, NC, brother Douglas L. Pegram of Blowing Rock, NC, several nieces, nephews, cousins, numerous friends, and a community who has certainly felt the impact of Jan's selfless giving.

A celebration of Jan's life service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm Street, Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends following the service.
