Jana’e , affectionately known as “Bug”, went to join our heavenly Father on September 29, 2010. Jana’e Raquel Davis was born in Greensboro, NC on August 26, 1987 and raised on the South Side of Greenboro. Jana’e graduated from Grimsley Senior High School, Greensboro, NC, in 2005.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 3:00 pm, at Genesis Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 2:30 pm.
As a child “Nae” was a cheerleader for Warnersville Recreation Ccenter and participated in African dance with her sisters Ebon’e and Cierra. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family and loved road trips on which she served as our personal “GPS”. “Nae” was studying Criminal Law at GTCC, and taking classes to be a Teacher’s Assistant, she also attended GTCC where she studied criminal law. “Nae” motivated just about any and everyone with her joyful and go getter spirit, if ever she got turned down she never gave up she may have taken a break but she snapped into reality and got things done. She loved bowling, shopping and other activities.
“Nae” slipped quietly from this life into the next from complications from seizures. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Roosevelt Davis, Jr. To carry her memory she is survived by her paternal grandmother, Alma H. Davis, mother, Gertie M. Jackson, father, James “Blu” Davis, sisters Danielle C. Devero (Tracy), Melva L. Florance, Ebon’e R. Davis, Cierra M. Davis (Wayne) and brother, Malcolm L. Florence (Matt) and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
“Nae” was a very peaceful soul who stayed focused on her school work and trying to be successful . She will truly be missed by many family, friends, classmates and neighbors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Genesis Baptist Church, 2812 E. Bessemer Avenue Greensboro, NC 27405 in honor of Jana’e.
