James Orin Puett Sr.

Mr. James Orin Puett, Sr., 96, a resident of Greensboro died Saturday August 6, 2011. Mr. Puett was born July 1, 1915 in Collettsville, NC the son of Henry Robert and Della Mae Davis Puett. He was a former employee with M.L. Eakes and S & W Motor Lines. He was a former member and past president of the Sedgefield Lions Club and also the Woodmen of the World. Mr. Puett was a member of Pinecroft Baptist Church. He was married on December 21, 1940 to Eva Emmaline Arney Puett who preceded him in death on June 18, 2010. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clara P. Seagle, Kathleen P. Saunders and five brothers, Ernest, Ullery, Joseph, Shea and Dale Puett

Surviving are five daughters, Deanna B. Cox and husband Robert of Pinellas Park, FL, Loretta M. Kaiser and husband Mike of Ft. Wayne, IN, Patricia A. Hough, Julia E. Paschall and husband Hunter and Melinda J. Kington and husband Dale all of Greensboro; one son, James Orin Puett Jr. and wife Junette of High Point; one sister, Era P. Courtney of Lenoir; one brother, Lane Puett of Morganton; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Jack Morris. Entombment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday before the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m.
