James Cephus Nunn, 91, of Greensboro, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Hospice House of High Point.
A funeral service will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel by Rev. Keith McKinney. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
James was born July 13, 1923 in Pilot Mountain, NC, the son of Joseph Franklin Nunn and Martha Etta Nunn.
James was a US Army veteran serving during WWII. He was a member of New Bessemer Baptist Church and retired from the Greensboro Daily News. James also worked at the Green Ford Auto Auction. James loved trapshooting and was a member of the Triad Trapshooters Association where he was inducted into the NC Trapshooters Hall of Fame, Inc. He was also of member of the Konne-Yaut Indian Tribe.
Surviving are his son, James Ricky Nunn of Greensboro; brother, Jo Nunn of Essex, MD; grandchildren, Michael Nunn and wife Kellie, Christy Kurten and husband Scott; great grandchildren, Makalah Nunn, Jocelyn Nunn, Jaylin Kurten, Gia Kurten and Dean McDaniel II; several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Thursday, 6:00-7:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
