A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Greensboro. The family will receive friends following the service at the Church.
James was born in Chapel Hill, NC on June 4th, 1955 to the late James Grover Lee Jr. and Dawson Millikan Lee. He was a graduate of Greensboro Page High School and North Carolina State University.
As a young boy he became active in scouting at First Presbyterian’s Troop 203 and obtained the highest rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14.
James also had a real passion for all types of animals and worked his way through high school at a local veterinarian hospital.
After receiving an accounting degree at North Carolina State University in 1977, he worked as a financial auditor for the IRS.
James returned to school in 2005 to pursue a long time interest in music/arts and received his bachelor in Professional Theater at North Carolina A&T State University in 2007.
In his later years of life, James found a special place at Shiloh Baptist Church. There he formed many caring friendships and especially enjoyed singing in the choir. He also took an interest in volunteer work at the Urban Ministry.
His big heart and positive attitude helped to guide him through the twist and turns of life's journeys. He will be greatly missed by family and friends that knew him.
James is survived by his brother Frank Millikan Lee of Charlotte, NC.
