Mr. James Earnest Holmes, 64, a resident of Greensboro died Thursday morning March 29, 2012. Mr. Holmes was born August 8, 1947 in Pacolet Mills, SC, the son of Earl Henry and Nellie Lucille Jones Holmes. He was a 1967 graduate of Ben L. Smith High School and worked as a project manager for Four Seasons Environmental Services. He was preceded in death by his parents.
On December 13, 1970 he was married to the former Janice Elaine Wilson. Surviving are his wife of the home; one daughter, Zar Holmes of Greensboro; two sons, Hugh Holmes of Greensboro, Jason Holmes and wife Jennifer of Liberty; the family Labradore Retriever “Riggs”; two sisters, Brenda Oates and husband Donnie of Climax, Sandy Smith of McLeansville and four brothers, Wayne Holmes and wife Gail of Climax, Bill Holmes and wife Patsy of GA, Donald Holmes and wife Nancy of Greensboro, Michael Holmes and wife Joanie of Greensboro.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday at 4:00 p.m. in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Brian Blomquist. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
James’ love, humor, wisdom and strength will be missed and remembered.
