Mr. James “Jim” Lester Branner, Sr., 88, a resident of Greensboro died on Monday January 19, 2015 at the Adams Farm Living and Rehab Center. Mr. Branner was born December 2, 1926 in Timberville, VA, the son of James Lester and Elizabeth Miller Branner.
Jim received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston. He worked with the United States Gypsum (USG) as a sales representative for 30 years.
He was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Men and served as a church usher.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Kay Hash and his brother, John Branner.
On April 21, 1957 he was married to the former June Turner who survives of the home.
Surviving in addition to his wife June T. Branner are, one daughter, Carla Sue Sanders and husband Mark of Madison; three sons, James Lester Branner, Jr. and wife Reyne of Columbus, IN, Gregory Scott Branner and wife Teresa of Madison Heights, VA, Jerry Turner Branner and wife Gail of Huntersville and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Phyllis Coats. Entombment will follow in the Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
