A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Westminster Gardens with Reverend John Conner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm Street in Greensboro.
Bill was born July 27, 1928 in Shelby, NC to the late Walter Beach Beamon and Bertha Glenn Tarlton Beamon. He graduated from Hartsell High School in 1947, located in Concord, NC. He also served in the US Army for two years during the Korean War. He was a sale representative for the Dixie/Marathon Division of the American Can Company which was later acquired by the James River Corporation. He worked for Dixie/Marathon for 34 years and retired in 1990. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed spending time and traveling with his family, and he also had a tender love for dogs.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Sarah Beamon; parents; and sisters, Bea Whitworth and Margaret Everhart.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Andy Beamon and wife Mary of Jamestown, NC and grandchildren, Hannah and Will Beamon of Jamestown.
