Jameelah Hanna Tawasha, 89, of Greensboro, North Carolina, went to be with our Lord on September 19, 2024. Born in 1935 in Jericho to the late Essa and Mazuzeh Hanna, Jameelah was a teacher and principal, always passionate about teaching children. She also worked in the family business over the years. Jameelah was a devoted wife, mother and sister with the kindest and most loving heart. She was loved dearly by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Jameelah was preceded in death by husband Kareem and son, Essam. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Bassam, and daughter, Mary; grandchildren Jesse, Hanna, Nicolas and Lara, and siblings, Laila, Lourice and Shadia.
The funeral will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 215 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC 27408 at 12:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024. Committal service will be held at Guilford Memorial Park, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC 27407, where she will be entombed in the mausoleum.
