Ila DeEtte Wood

Mrs. Ila DeEtte “Dee” Wood, 83, a resident of Greensboro died Tuesday December 10, 2013 at Camden Place. She was born December 15, 1929 in the Thurmond Community of Wilkes County, the daughter of Kent and Virgie Holcomb Owens. She was a member of Clifton Roads Baptist Church, now Crosspoint Church of Greensboro

Dee was married to Avery Leon Wood, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 11, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mozelle O. Byrd, Leotta Lyons, Bessie O. Johnson and one brother, Charlie Owens.

She is survived by two daughters, Deborah W. Cummings and husband Russell of High Point, Diane W. Pearman and husband Jim of Greensboro; two sons, Avery Leon Wood, Jr. and wife Linda of Stokesdale, Phillip Kyle Wood of Greensboro; one sister, Bernice O. Brown of Boonville; six grandchildren, Bryce Wood, Dustin Wood, Stuart Cummings, Krysti Wood, Chelsea Wood, Laura Pearman and eight great grandchildren, Matthew Wood, Anna Wood, Luke Wood, Rebecca Wood, Callie Wood, Braxton Hiatt, Justin Cummings and Leah Cummings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Don Rumple. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00p.m.
