Henry “Hank” U. Dean, 69, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019. He was born on March 14, 1950 in Johnston County, NC, the son of Louis and Alga Godwin Dean. He proudly served our country in the US Army 4th Platoon, 27th Infantry during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. Following his military service, he worked as an electrician in commercial construction. After he retired, he enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and working on puzzles and he loved to read.
Hank was a devoted husband, father, “Papa”, great-grandpa, brother and friend to many. He will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lucy Memory. Surviving is his loving wife, June Fields Dean; brother, Steve “Dino” Dean (Dayna) and sister, Carolyn Creech; children, Henry Dean (Tonya) of Thomasville, NC, Jimmy Dean (Kristi) of Greensboro, NC, Carol Moser Huffman (Skip) of Raleigh, NC, Robert Moser (Kim) of High Point, NC, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Monday, 2:00 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
