Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 1 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial service will follow at 12 noon at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall after the memorial service.
Helen was a native of Wilkes County and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Toy Church. She lived in Greensboro for 27 years and was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, which provided a church home for Helen while she was able to attend services and friendship and support as her health declined.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Homer L. Dukes; brothers, Cecil, Wayne and Hal Church; sister, Mariness Triplett; son-in-law, David Hammer and great-grand-child, Benjamin Williams.
She is survived by her daughters, Gail Dukes Hammer and Karen Dukes Eusebio (Tom); sisters, Geneva Cothren and Grace Sebastian; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
