Greensboro- Mrs. Gertrude Hart Hardy, 94, passed away on March 21, 2015 at Hospice Home of High Point. Services to celebrate her life will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, March 25 at Lakeview Memorial Park with Reverend Carl Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM on Tuesday at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel.
Gertrude was born in Guilford County to the late Isaac and Mary Gregory Hart. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church for over twenty years and worked in the Elder Care field as a CNA. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a woman of great faith who had a kind and generous spirit. She loved to be with her family and take care of them. She was married to Henry Clay Hardy for over forty years until his death in 1986.
She will be forever missed by her sons and their wives, Donald and Nancy Hardy of Brown Summit, Ronald and Frances Hardy of Greensboro and William and Joey Hardy of Hampton, TN; 10 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sister, Naomi Thompson and husband Richard of McLeansville; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ellen Coke (1971); siblings, Bill Hart, Helen Redding and Viola Duggins; and two great grandchildren.
