Frank was a retired driver for Consolidated Freight Lines. He also drove for other trucking companies in the area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of Church Street Baptist Church.
He was a quite man who loved fishing, watching football, basketball and seeing his grandchildren playing sports. He also loved spending time with his family, grandchildren, brother, J.C., nieces, nephews and dear friends. Frank will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, David Chavis; his sister, Myrtle C. Harding and a brother, Henry Chavis.
Frank is survived by his wife, Frances Deese Chavis of the home; three sons, Kenneth Ray Chavis and wife Julie of High Point, Dean Anthony Chavis and wife Nikki of Winston-Salem, Jeffrey Chavis and wife Josie of Greensboro; one brother, J.C. Chavis and wife Annie-Ruth of Lumberton and seven grandchildren, Spenser Bulmer, Adam Chavis, Morgan Chavis, Shaden Chavis, Dakota Chavis, Shane Chavis and Caroline Chavis.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Tyler Gaulden, Pastor Thomas Satterfield and Pastor Billy McDaniel. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dakota Chavis, Spenser Bulmer, Adam Chavis, Chris Dial, Shane Chavis and Jeff Chavis.
