Mr. Frank Van Shaddle, 61, of Greensboro, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital.
A service celebrating Frank’s life, which will be held in Wytheville, VA, will be announced in June closer to his birthday.
Frank was born June 14, 1953 in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Norman Dale Shaddle and Gloria Marcella Workman Shaddle.
Frank was a 1971 graduate of Sandwich High School in Sandwich, IL. He also was a graduate of Wytheville Community College in Wytheville, VA and attended Virginia Tech. Frank was of the Lutheran faith and farmed with his father in Crockett’s Cove. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, cars and trucks. Frank was also a carpenter who enjoyed gadgets, drafting and inventing things. Those relatives and friends who were close to Frank knew him as a gentle, kind and generous soul with a positive attitude about life. He bounced back from every setback he experienced and this made him an inspiring example to others. He will be greatly missed.
Surviving in addition to his mother of Catlett, VA are his sisters, Dorothy Shaddle Larson of Catlett, VA, Holly Shaddle Sword of Marion, VA and Katrina Shaddle Wareham of Mercersburg, PA; brother-in-laws, Art Larson and Rob Wareham; nieces and nephews, Becka Larson (aka Alyah Fox), Nathan Larson, Ian Sword, Aubry Wareham and Chelsea Wareham, and a good friend whom had a positive influence on Frank’s life for the past 3 years, Mr. Michael Blackwell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor’s choice.
