She is survived by her children, George Nathaniel Arnold (Laura), Mack Arthur Arnold III, Richard Henry Arnold (Mary) and Mary Camille Arnold Ellington (Mitch); her sister, Henrianne S. Allegood, her brother, Richard D. Sylvester, Jr (Marie); her grandchildren, Tyler Arnold (Amanda), Jill Burnette Bring (Alexander), Sarah Arnold, Walker Burnette (Paige), Hays Arnold, and her great-grandson, Brooks Burnette.
Fay attended high school at Salem Academy and earned her bachelor’s degree in Distributive Education from Women’s College (UNC-G). She was a member of the Greensboro Symphony Guild and the first President of the Greensboro Jaycettes. After raising her four children, she stayed active running multiple businesses, including Arnold Copy Centers and Bald Head Island Vacation Rentals. Fay taught yoga for many years. She also loved teaching preschoolers.
While living at Well-Spring, Fay was an avid bridge player and socially active. Fay’s family is so grateful to the entire Well-Spring community for making her life joyous for the last 21 years.
Her Well-Spring friendships meant so much to her.
As a member of Mt Pisgah Methodist Church, Fay had many cherished friends in Christ. A very special thanks to Gail and Pat Monahan for taking Fay to church every Sunday.
A Visitation will be held at 12:30pm on Thursday, December 19th in Phillips Hall at Well-Spring Retirement Community, immediately followed by her Memorial Service at 1:30pm. Dr. Jeff Johnsen of Mt Pisgah Methodist Church will preside.
