Ernie C. Garrett, Jr.

Mr. Ernest “Ernie” Cebron Garrett, Jr., 60, a resident of the Forest Oaks Community died Sunday morning June 12, 2011. Ernie was born November 18, 1950 in Macon, GA the son of Ernest Cebron Garrett, Sr. and Lillian Lucille Joiner Garrett. He was a member of the graduating class of 1968 at Ragsdale High School and a graduate of UNC at Greensboro. Before retiring, Ernie was the former owner of the Mid-State Ford, Lincoln, Mercury Dealership in Sanford and the former owner of Eldercare of Greensboro. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother, Velda Thompson Garrett.

On June 6, 1970, he was married to the former Wanda Stafford who survives of the home. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home is one daughter, Jessica G. Jackson and husband Matthew of Sanford; one son, Jason Brent Garrett and wife Monica of Barnesville, MD; one brother, William Michael Garrett of Longs, SC and six grandchildren, Chase, Samuel, Julianna and Helena Garrett and Luke and Kate Jackson.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel, 6000 High Point Rd., Greensboro, NC 27407 conducted by the Reverend Brent Thomas. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m
