Erik Thomas Johnson, 28, of Greensboro, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2017. Erik was born October 14, 1988, in Forsyth County and graduated from North Davidson High School. He attended Culinary School at GTCC and worked as a chef for Whole Foods and Gia's Restaurant.
Erik was passionate about food and enjoyed traveling and experiencing different cuisines. He was an all-around jokester with a great sense of humor. His in depth knowledge and appreciation for space contributed to the enjoyment of identifying constellations. He also stayed abreast of current events happening around the world. Erik enjoyed snow skiing, meteorology, meeting new people, and hanging out with friends. He had many good friends and he was a good friend to many.
Erik was preceded in death by his father, Arnie Johnson, maternal grandmother, Betty Foust and paternal grandfather, Raymond Johnson. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Tracy Johnson; half-brother, Nathanial Johnson; paternal grandmother, Helma Johnson; maternal grandfather, Thomas J. Foust; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other extended family.
Monsignor Anthony Marcaccio is officiating the private memorial service celebrating Erik's life.
