A graveside service will be held at Guilford Memorial Park, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:30 pm. The family will receive friends and loved ones immediately following the graveside service in the Reception Hall in Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel located on the same property, 6000 West Gate City Blvd., in Greensboro, until 3:30 pm.
Emma Parker was born in Davidson County on August 14, 1931, to the late Fred Franklin Biesecker and Mary Tesh Biesecker. Emma was a dedicated member of Lindley Park Baptist Church since joining on April 15, 1962. She worked at Western Electric for 42 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Harold A. Parker, Sr.; all of her siblings, Tommy Biesecker, Bobbie Biesecker, Jack Biesecker, Fritz Biesecker, Steven Biesecker and Elizabeth Biesecker.
Emma is survived by her loving daughter, Mary “Cookie” Costner and husband, Travis of Jamestown; a devoted son, Harold A. Parker, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Greensboro; three grandsons, Wayne Costner and wife, Barbara, Jon Parker and wife Nicole, and Alex Parker; and two great-grandsons, Bryan and Brandon Costner.
The light of Emma’s life were her three grandsons and two great-grandsons. She took great pleasure in helping take care of them, from infants through grade school, picking them up from school, taking them to church and on vacations each year.
