Mr. Elmer Moore Brown

A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Brown was a member of Eller Memorial Baptist Church and the Jolly Elders Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the U.S.S. Hart at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He was the retired owner and operator of Brown Construction for over 40 years. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Annie Ward Brown, a son, Jim Swaim, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mr. Brown is survived by his sons, David Swaim, Sr., and wife, Martha of Greensboro, Larry E. Brown and wife, Sarah of Raleigh, brother, L.W. Brown of McLeansville, daughter-in-law, Lucy Swaim of Lexington, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St.
