Liz was born June 3, 1944, in Sundsvall, Sweden to Erik and Hilma Brink. While on a break from attending Uppsala University in Sweden, Liz met Bob in Heidelberg, Germany while he was serving in the US Army. They spent the following year traveling Europe, returned to the States and were married at First Presbyterian Church on August 10, 1968. Together they raised two sons, David and Michael. Liz worked for years in accounting, most recently retired from the Greensboro firm Leeper, Kean & Rumley. She also held a second job working for Edging Plus based out of Portugal handling their U.S. accounts. Liz will be remembered as a kind, caring and special lady who was a devoted wife and mother and always had a wonderful smile.
Liz is survived by her husband, Robert Francis Waters of Greensboro; sons, Michael Karl Waters of Durham and David Eric Waters of Atlanta, GA; and grandsons, Bryson, Owen , Benjamin, and Riley Waters.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Sherrill and all the doctors, nurses and employees who provided exceptional care at Cone Health Cancer Center, Wesley Long Hospital and Hospice of the Piedmont- and to all the friends and family for their support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, Liz’s wishes were for memorials to be given to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (www.aspca.org) and Hospice of the Piedmont (www.hospiceofthepiedmont.org).
