Edward Darlan Moore, of Greensboro, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 24, 2010. His funeral service will be on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at Celia Phelps Memorial United Methodist Church, 3709 Groometown Road, Greensboro with Rev. Dr. Sharon Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park, Greensboro. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Moore and Johnsie Forte Moore. His immediate survivors are his wife, Clara McCoy Moore of the home; sons, Edward Moore II of Tacoma, Washington; George Simms and wife Marian of Greensboro; daughter, Erin Greene and husband Vance of Charlotte; Cheryl Watson and husband David of Greensboro; brothers, Reggie Moore and wife Gwendolyn of Greensboro; Perry Moore and wife Patricia of Hickory; sister, Yvette Moore of Greensboro; six grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force; he attended A&T State University; he received a degree from ECPI; was employed at Gilbarco for 35 years; and his Masonic affiliations were PM for Saint John Lodge #12; PCIC Greensboro Consistory 106; COR 106; PP for Khalif Temple #144, PHA; and a member of Celia Phelps Memorial United Methodist Church of Greensboro. Friends may visit on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Church beginning at 11:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Greensboro.
