I just learned about Drew. It’s a gut punch. 

I met him in the rhythm section in Grimsley’s jazz band. We all had a ball talkin’ trash and cuttin’ up! I recently reconnected with him and we got together quite a bit. We were able to clown around like in high school but we also talked a lot about his kids and how much he loved being a dad. I will miss him. Love you, brother.

Back in 9th grade in Mrs. Lynn English class, Drew and I always sat next to each other so we can practice our drumline cadence's with our pencils on our desks. We would even make up new cadence's to teach the rest of the line. But we also did our work. Lol. 
I will miss you classmate, line brother, and most of all FRIEND! 

Dear Donalyn and Family,
      We were so sorry to learn of Drew's passing.  What an incredible young man.  He had many talents - we always enjoyed when he played at Shout.  We also heard from a little birdie (Donalyn) that he was the best mashed potato fixer ever!  We cannot begin to imagine what all of you are going through.  Please know that we are keeping you in our prayers.  May God wrap His loving arms around you and hold you close.

Too many memories made, songs written and sung, and roads shared and walked together to name them all.  Forever missed, never forgotten.  I love you Drew.

We had the enormous pleasure of being Drew and Molly’s Neighbors for a few years.  It was a tremendous shock to learn of his passing.  Drew was not just a friendly and caring neighbor, but was a great friend to us as well.  Drew and I had some fun times playing guitar, drums and singing.  He was the best neighbor anyone could ask for and his big heart shone through in everything he did.  His positive attitude and outlook on life was contagious and I will always remember the times we spent together.  Our hearts go out to Molly and the kids as well as the rest of his family.

Drew was a shining star that I am blessed to have met, laughed with, talked about bass guitars, music, and family during his visits to Beloit. God bless you all and I forever will be honored to have had the opportunity to have been gifted with the time I spent with Drew Johnson.

Our Prayers and Thoughts are with you all in this time of sorrow. 

Drew had a way of ALWAYS making us laugh on a daily basis. His talent from Music to having the ability of picking up a persons accent no matter where they were from... right down to the facial expressions..during his Impressions of them.

What a JOY he was  and what an HONOR it was to work with Drew.

I have many memories of Drew from our days in Boone, but those that still pop up are his infectious laugh and his love for music.  Still when Rascal Flats comes on the radio, I can picture Drew laughing and harmonizing to the music.
