Doug was preceded in death by his parents and all of his brothers and sisters. Doug is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Peggy of the home; daughter, Teresa of Greensboro, NC; son, David of Randleman, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer, Erica and Justin and great grandchildren, Blaine and Jacob.
Doug was a life long resident of Greensboro, being born an raised in the Glenwood Community. Doug was very proud of his time spent in the military, where he served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War era.
Doug worked for Transmission Supplies in Greensboro, where he won multiple awards for Salesman of the Year' and later retired after more than thirty years with the company.
Doug was always an active member in his church where he served as a Deacon, for a short period of time, until he fell ill several years ago.
Doug loved God and he loved his family and will be missed by all that knew him. His personality and sense of humor was like no other. He never met a stranger and he always greeted everyone with a smile an a warm handshake.
The family would like to thank everyone for all of the prayers and support during this difficult time.
At Doug's request, he will be cremated and the family will host a Memorial Service and a Celebration of his Life, which will be held at a later date.
