A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday September 10th at
Hanes–Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel with Pastor Don Clement, of New Bessemer Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah King and her husband Bill of Greensboro; a special family friend, Tina Wilson; two grandchildren, Lisa Long and her husband Brian, Kevin King and his wife Tena; and five great grandchildren, all of Greensboro.
Surviving sisters are Norma Sabiston and husband Walter of Lousiana, Bonnie Kirby of Michigan and brother, Chester Lyttle of Tennesee.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Slay; brother, Alex Lyttle; and sisters, Leona Jackson, Jeanette Brown and Lil S. Lyttle.
Dot retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company. She was a member of New Bessemer Baptist Church of McLeansville where she served as a primaries Sunday School teacher with her dear friend, Lila Barton.
The family will receive friends on Thursday September 9th from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
