Dot was born on April 4, 1924 in Stokes County, NC, the daughter of Walter Lee and Nannie Lea Simmons Nelson. She worked as a seamstress with the Serta Mattress Company and retired after 20 years of service. Her passion was growing flowers in her yard. Dot loved to sew, making drapes and some of her own clothing. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed by all.
Dot was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Nelson, Maynard Nelson, Sam J. Nelson, B.J. Nelson, Lee Nelson; sisters, Flo Shelton and Shirley Latham. Surviving are her sons; Marty Hall and wife Kim of Franklinville, NC, Rickey Hall and wife Nancy of Archdale ,NC; sister, Maxine Moore of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Amanda Hall, Olivia Hall Hines and husband Brandon, Chelsea Hall and Melissa Hall.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel with burial to follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery
. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry Vanstory Chapel.
