Donald "Tom" Thomas Worthington

Born on February 28, 1951 in Cleveland, OH he was the son of the late Donald Eugene Worthington and Patricia Thomas Worthington. Tom graduated from Ohio State University and received a master’s degree from UNCG. He was a sales engineer in the textile industry with The Cardinal Group and Odell Mill Supply Company. Tom later worked in inventory control with Acme-McCrary.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Gwen, his daughter Kate May (Ken) and grandson Orin, and daughter Tricia Shumaker (Sam) granddaughter Clarke and grandson Lucas, brother, Steve Worthington, sister, Jan McKinney, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

His family will remember Tom for his quick wit, his tremendous love of family, his courageous approach to life, his fighting spirit and his joyful love of cars.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Christ United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

In lieu of flowers the family invites memorial donations be made to the donor’s charity of choice honoring Tom’s courageous battle with cancer and his fierce love of family and friends.
