He graduated from Northwest Guilford High School and went on to serve in the Army and was proud of his time served. He then went on to follow in his father’s footsteps as a truck driver, and finished out his career until his health forced him to retire.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lisa Land Shown; son, Brandon Shown; daughter; Denise Shown, brother; Paul Shown, aunts; Georgia Pearson and Shirley Noble, grandsons; Colby Shown, Logan Shown, and Nathan Shown, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Before his health had declined, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, taxidermist, and woodcarver.
The family will receive friends at River of Life Church, located at 4914 Liberty Road, Greensboro, NC 27406 on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 3:30pm-4:00pm with a celebration of life to follow.
The family would like to thank all that have passed through Dennis’s life over the years that brought him joy. A special thank you to Advantage Funeral and Cremation Services for the respect and dignity he was shown while leaving his home for the last time.
