David Ray Neal, 64, a resident of Jamestown passed away on Friday December 4, 2015 at Moses H. Cone Hospital. David was born April 11, 1951 in Madisonville, Kentucky.
He was a graduate of Ragsdale High School and worked with Furnitureland South where he was a driver and clerk.. David was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Rollins Neal of the home; one daughter, Erin Neal of Greensboro; his mother and step-father, Lois R. Rankin and husband Don Rankin of Greensboro; one sister, Julie Shaw of Winston-Salem and two brothers, Jimmy Oliver of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Charles Oliver and wife Beth of Greensboro.
A Service to Celebrate David’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by Pastor Vic Redding. Interment with Military Honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
For those that wish to make a memorial in David's memory, the family request that they be made to the COPD Foundation.
A reception will follow the interment at the Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel.
