He is the beloved husband of Janet nee Takach; loving father of Jason O. (Nicole) Harrell, William Harrell, Andrew Harrell and John Harrell; proud grandfather of Malia, Noah and Logan; dear brother of Fonda (Joseph) Sutphin, Jamie Honeycutt and Wendy York; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, David W. and Millicent Scurlock Harell, Sr.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N. Elm St., Greensboro, NC. Interment will be private.
