Cynthia Marie Whitaker

Cynthia was born June 14, 1963 in Guilford County, the daughter of Albert Lee and Janie Joyce Whitaker. She was a graduate of Dudley High School. A Christian, Cynthia was a member of Sumner Baptist Church.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her father and her brother, Kenneth Lee Whitaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Amy Smith of Greensboro, Beth E. Smith of Climax, Heather Clapp of New Albany, Indiana; her mother, Janie Joyce Whitaker of Pleasant Garden; two sisters, Gale Branson of Summerfield, Joyce Whitaker Millman and husband Cliff of Greensboro; six grandchildren, Wyland Locklear, Jessica Petty, Chastity Petty, Jacob Petty, Christopher L. Moody, Jr., Carsen A. Sullivan; another soon to be born grandchild and a special cousin, Bonnie Joyce.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel conducted by the Reverend Larry Hoyle. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
