Craig Franklin Aufderhar, 66, of Graham, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home on January 24, 2021. A celebration of his life will be at 11 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm chapel in Greensboro.
Craig was born in Walla Walla, WA to the late Julian W. and Doris Franklin Aufderhar. He was an involved and loving father to his four children with whom he spoke daily and a generous man who placed other’s needs before his own. His ability to easily communicate with others and affable personality contributed to his success in executive sales for more than twenty years with Trussway Manufacturing. He shared his success, by mentoring his son, Jason, with the same company for many years.
Craig liked to be out front, the leader, whether in his career, with his family or leading the Harley ride. He had a hard time being still but recently he and his wife, Karin, started traveling in their RV where he learned to relax and enjoy time spent together. Sports were a big part of his life but especially baseball. He loved the Braves, coached his sons, Nik and Cam, when they were younger, provided team supplies and was caretaker of the ballfield.
Craig is survived by his wife, Karin Prater Aufderhar of Graham; children, Jason Aufderhar and wife Kim, of Climax, Heather Aufderhar of Graham and Cameron Aufderhar of Cary; grandson, Ryan Aufderhar; brothers, Hal Aufderhar and wife Rhonda of Greensboro and Royce Aufderhar and wife Debbie of Whitsett; sister, Kay Lahocinsky of Pittsboro and extended family. In addition to his parents, his son, Nicholas Wayne Aufderhar, preceded him in death in 2017 and brother, Keith Aufderhar, in 2016.
