Cliff was born April 14, 1936 in Greensboro, the son of Harold and Mildred Toler Greene.
As a young boy, Cliff attended the Christ School for Boys in Arden, NC, where he played soccer and was head Prefect. He was a veteran of the US Army and became the vice president of Interstate Management Company, managing hotels across the country, for over 40 years. Cliff was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church and enjoyed playing tennis in his younger years. He was a big UNC fan and enjoyed listening to Jazz. Cliff will be remembered for his kindness and unreserved laughter as well as his love for his family. He will be missed by all including his feline friend, Jaxyn.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his brother, Haven Greene.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 65 years, Myrna Autry Greene; sons, Clifton Greene, Jr. and wife Susan and David Greene and wife Becky, all of Greensboro; daughter, Ashley Sperling and husband Adam of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Cliff III, Noah, Carter, Mitchell and Abby (his favorite granddaughter) Greene and Zack, Cameron and Jordan Sperling.
The family asks with gratitude that memorials in Cliff’s name be made to the Guilford County Animal Services, 980 Guilford College Rd. Greensboro, NC 27409.
