Charles was born to Charles Rueben and Edith Ruth Russell on September 18, 1948. An extremely gifted musician and songwriter, C.H. began playing guitar in bands as a young teen. After graduating from high school, he served his country in the United States Army. Following discharge, he worked in printing, built his own company (Russell Delivery), and then served as a purchasing agent.
While music remained his soul’s love language his entire life, his family was his greatest treasure. He loved nothing more than seeking ways to help those around him; blessing others gave him great joy.
C.H. was dearly loved and will be remembered by his wife of fifty-one years, Peggy; his daughter Patti and her husband Woody; his “adopted” daughter Kendra (Gary); his grandchildren, Tamara (Andrew), Leanna (Drew), and Hayley; his great-grandson Tucker; his mother Edith; his brother Gerald (Ronda); his sister Kay; his sisters-in-law, Janet (Earl), Shirley, and Pat; his many nieces and nephews; and his close friends.
A private celebration of life will be held at Church of the Redeemer on Saturday, August 6th. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice (AuthoraCare Foundation), Disabled American Veterans, or any animal rescue organization.
