Born, December 27, 1919 in Louisville, KY, he was the son of the late Charles Louis Hile and Olivia Drescher Hile.
He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Stanley Hile of Philadelphia, PA, a sister, Joan Storrs Newlon of Baltimore, MD, and a brother, W. Brent Hile of Louisville, KY. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Elizabeth Hopkins Cole Hile, a son, John Randolph Hile (Marcia) of Greensboro, four grandchildren including Sara Hile Zukowski (Matt) of Greensboro, four great grandchildren and a brother, James L. Hile of Montville, NJ.
