Cecil E. Ward

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel, 515 North Elm Street with interment to follow at Westminster Gardens Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Road. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the funeral.

Cecil was born in Randolph County, NC, son of the late Cecil F. and Ada E. Ward. He attended Parkway Baptist Church where he enjoyed many years of fellowship, service, events, and trips with his Sunday School Class. He retired from Gilbarco as a Quality Control Supervisor after 33 years of employment. He served in the National Guard when he was young.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy M. Ward and sisters, Nansemond “Sis” W. Joyner and Gaynell Nixon. He is survived by his daughter and sons, Heather L. Ward, Colin E. Ward, both of Greensboro, Kevin E. Ward of Charleston, and sister, JoeAnn W. Hall of Randolph County. Also surviving are many loving extended family members and friends.
