Cecil served in the United States Army, was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the Army, Cecil became a salesman for Black Cadillac in Greensboro, NC and then General Manager for Jerry Watkins Cadillac in Winston Salem, NC. Upon retirement, Cecil began a thriving business in real estate. He was a longtime member of the Greensboro Ski and Outing Club and enjoyed snow skiing, boating, volleyball, bowling and working out. Cecil was a unique man who always had a smile on his face and never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends dearly and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a joy to be around because of his infectious laughter and upbeat spirit and everyone who knew him was blessed. Cecil was well respected throughout the community and an inspiration to us all.
Our gratitude and special thanks go out to the caring staff at Wesley Long Hospital and Cancer Center. We also thank our extended family and friends for their help and continuous support. Due to Cecil's love of life, we ask that in lieu of flowers you contact your local Red Cross and donate a pint of blood in his memory.
