Mrs. Catherine Welborn Hipp

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel, with Rev. Jim Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mrs. Hipp was born April 19, 1926, in Wilkes County, to the late D.J. and Sallie Welborn, and moved to Greensboro when she was two years old. She married Lester D. Brady in 1946 and retired from Troxler Hosiery Mill after twenty years of employment. Catherine was a faithful servant to the Lord and was of the Methodist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Lester Brady; sisters, Edith Welborn and Frances Welborn Pegram; and brothers, L.P. Welborn and Bobby Welborn.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Winfred L. Hipp of the home; children, Michael Brady and wife Debbie, Gene Brady and Ginny Willis; Cathy Brady Cichowski and husband David, and Jan Brady Wellmon and husband Willie, all of Greensboro; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Welborn Ridgill and Rachael Welborn Crews; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the funeral home and other times at the home.

The family wishes to thank the folks at Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, especially Taryn RN, Geneva CNA, and Julie RN for their wonderful care these past three weeks. Also, a special thank you to Susan Bunton for her assistance these past two weeks.
